
Guwahati. Officers and jawans of 175th Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated Shaurya Diwas with great enthusiasm at their headquarters in Rani Kamrup (Assam). On this occasion, CRPF Commandant Rajiv Kumar Jha took salute at the quarter guard and paid tribute to the martyred jawans. Thereafter, a Sainik Sammelan was organized. On this occasion, Commandant Rajiv Kumar Jha while addressing said that 9th April 1965 is historic for CRPF because this day is celebrated in the memory of the sudden attack by a brigade of Pakistani army on Sardar and Tonk post, which was foiled with bravery and courage by the jawans of Central Reserve Police Force. He told that how on 9th April 1965, a small contingent deployed for the security of Sardar and Tonk post of Rann of Kutch displayed

indomitable courage and valor and fought bravely with the brigade of Pakistani army for 12 hours and drove them out of the battle field. Forced to flee. He told that Central Reserve Police Force is the largest paramilitary force in the world and is deployed in different areas of the country and is fighting both external and internal problems. First of all, the Commandant of 175th Battalion CRPF, Shri Jha, honored the brave mothers, brave women, brave children of martyred Central Reserve Police Force personnel and personnel who achieved special achievements under the jurisdiction of the battalion. On this occasion, cultural programs were organized in the unit and a grand feast was organized in all the messes. In all the programs organized on this day, apart from Medha Jha, Rajiv Kumar Jha (Commandant), Alka Mishra, Mukund Mohan (Second Command Officer), Ravi Kumar Srivastava (Deputy Commandant) and other officers, all the subordinate officers and jawans of the unit were present.
