RPF seized gold, silver and cash worth Rs 11.39 crore, ganja, liquor and turtles worth Rs 40 lakh at Gaya Junction

In three years and five months, the RPF team of Gaya achieved many more achievements

Gaya: The data of the action taken by the Railway Protection Force at Gaya Junction from October 2021 till now shows that if the RPF team was not vigilant, the smugglers would have had a field day. The morale of the criminals would have been high. They would have looted railway property and smugglers of drugs, liquor and wildlife would have fearlessly smuggled through trains. It is the result of the alertness and dedication of the RPF team that during the period from October 2021 to March 2025 (till 20.03.2025), 21 people were caught while illegally transporting gold, silver and cash worth crores of rupees. In which gold 18.881 kg, silver 46.995 kg was caught. The value of the seized gold is estimated to be Rs 9 crore 82 lakh 4 thousand 26, while the value of silver is Rs 28 lakh 67 thousand and cash of Rs 1 crore 27 lakh 53 thousand was seized. Talking about seizure of drugs and arrests, about 164 kg of ganja was seized during this period. Its government value was estimated to be Rs 17 lakh 66 thousand 900. Whereas in the world of drugs, its value is considered to be very high. 16 people were sent behind bars in 12 cases of ganja. While 169 cases of liquor were caught. In which 107 smugglers were caught. The value of 7325 liters of liquor seized in this case was estimated to be Rs 20 lakh 11 thousand 700. Whereas illegal liquor mafias are heard charging double its price in the market. As far as smuggling is concerned, cases of tortoise smuggling have also been caught. During this period, 401 tortoises were freed from the hands of smugglers. Four smugglers were arrested in three cases of this. The RPF team remained vigilant in protecting wildlife. The cost of these turtles is about two lakh 38 thousand.

Under Operation Amanat, RPF returned goods worth ₹ 23.92 lakh safely to 388 passengers. 64 children and 51 girls were rescued. Under Operation Seva, service was provided to 66 men, 29 women and two children (97).

Talking about the ticket checking campaign, a fine of about ₹ 8.72 lakh was collected from 149480 people. Which had a direct impact on the sale of ticket booking counters.

During this period, the RPF team, under the leadership of Inspector-in-charge Ajay Prakash of RPF Post Gaya, while monitoring criminal activities, recovered eight country-made pistols and 13 live cartridges. 15 people were arrested in these cases.

As far as the Railway Act is concerned, 160 criminals were arrested while solving 75 cases of RP(UP) Act. The value of railway property seized in these cases is more than ₹ 40 lakh. 6605 cases were registered under various Railway Acts and 101 people were sent to jail. 6662 people were arrested. Due to which the railway received more than 20 lakh rupees as additional revenue.
